Gwendolyn Sumter-Davis is an advanced practice nurse with comprehensive clinical expertise in endocrinology, psychiatric nursing, and infusion therapy. She holds degrees from the University of Maryland (Biology/Psychology) , Purdue University Global (Nursing), Walden University (Master’s in Nursing), and Liberty University (Master in Psychiatric Nursing). Her advanced training includes both family and psychiatric nurse practitioner roles.

Her clinical practice encompasses medical management of complex endocrine disorders—including diabetes, thyroid disease, parathyroid dysfunction, weight management, and adrenal pathology—across acute, long-term, and ambulatory care settings. She is experienced in psychiatric assessment and baseline management for patients in long-term care facilities, integrating mental health surveillance with chronic disease management to reduce hospitalizations and optimize patient outcomes.

Gwendolyn has served in leadership roles, directing endocrinology services and providing clinical oversight for multidisciplinary teams. She is skilled in staff development, hosting educational roundtables, and delivering evidence-based updates in endocrine care.

She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Lifestyle Coach for the National Diabetes Prevention Program.
